Sony has been making electronics that fill rooms with clear audio for decades. Now they’re entering the desktop gaming space with the Pulse Elevate, a pair of wireless speakers that sit on your desk or travel in your bag.
Each Pulse Elevate speaker has planar magnetic drivers, the same type found in high-end studio monitors, that reproduce frequencies from deep lows to crisp highs. Paired with built-in woofers, they create a full-bodied sound that emphasizes bass without overwhelming the rest of the mix.

- RICH JBL ORIGINAL PRO SOUND: The legendary JBL signature sound delivers surprisingly big audio and punchy bass from Go 3’s small size.
- ULTRA-PORTABLE DESIGN: JBL Go 3’s ultra-portable design goes great with the latest styles, and its colorful fabrics and expressive details make it…
- 5 HOURS OF PLAYTIME: Don’t sweat the small stuff like charging your battery. Go 3 gives you up to 5 hours of battery life on a single charge.
On a PS5, the setup uses Tempest 3D AudioTech, a system that places sounds around you based on their virtual position. The speakers pinpoint those cues so a flat screen becomes a more immersive space. Portable use with a PS5 Portal remote player keeps the fidelity intact over wireless links so long sessions away from home feel seamless.

Voice chat is often lost in the shuffle of desktop setups, but the Pulse Elevate has a microphone built into the right speaker. This built-in option lets you talk to teammates without needing a separate headset and uses AI to filter out keyboard clacks and fan whirs. The mic matches the speakers’ design which has basic volume knobs on each unit. You can mute the mic with one press or go into the system options on the PS5 or PC to adjust levels, balance your own voice feedback or modify the EQ to your liking.

Pulse Elevate uses PlayStation Link, Sony’s wireless tech that ensures audio comes without delay or loss of detail, to connect directly to PS5 consoles, PCs, Macs and the PS5 Portal, all via an included USB adaptor that plugs into USB-C ports.

Bluetooth is the final option, so you can connect to your phone or other devices for music or extra audio. Run game audio through PlayStation Link and pull Discord chat from your phone and everything will stack. The speakers have rechargeable batteries that will last for hours (exact time TBD) and snap back into the charging docks for desk duty and be ready to go again in seconds.
The units tilt for ear placement whether you’re hunched over a laptop or lying back in a chair and are super lightweight to carry. Dock them at home for stable, angled playback that takes up your local space or detach for Portal sessions during commutes. They come in Midnight Black or White (White may sell out quick in some areas) and can be used in complex or simple configurations.

The Pulse Elevate fits with the Pulse Elite headset and Pulse Explore earbuds, which all share the same planar driver technology as well as PlayStation Link. Sony released the earbuds in 2023 for $200 and the headset in 2024 for $150 so expect these to fall in the same price range when they come out in 2026.
